One-to-One Learning Center

The One-to-One Learning Center is a not-for-profit educational organization committed to helping students develop life-long learning skills. Open to all, the Center provides personalized diagnostic evaluations, individualized tutorials, and specialized classes to an ever-increasing community of learners. With a staff of over one hundred thirty certified, experienced teachers and diagnosticians, the Center has served thousands of students since its founding in 1972. The Center offers academic support across the entire curriculum – from math to foreign languages, reading, science, writing, study skills, and learning disability compensations.

Most importantly, the Center provides students with the skills to learn by teaching appropriate academic and organizational strategies tailored to your child's specific learning style. At the One-to-One Learning Center, your child has the support of talented, dedicated teachers who work in close cooperation with classroom teachers and associated professionals as needed.

  • Individual academic assistance for students in suburban and Chicago elementary, junior high, and high schools
  • On-site diagnostic testing for students of all ages who may warrant an in-depth look at possible causes of academic under-performance
  • ACT/SAT test preparation classes at the Center and on-site at ten area high schools
  • SSAT test preparation for junior high students considering attending a private high school
  • Study skills classes at area park districts for junior high students
  • Workshops for education professionals at the Center offices and at local school districts
  • No Child Left Behind tutoring program in several Chicago public schools
  • The Read-to-Win! initiative to develop reading and literacy programs in Chicago ’s most challenged inner-city areas with the belief that children who can read, stay in school
  • Partnership with Boys Hope/ Girls Hope to provide academic support to students in the program living in group homes and attending Loyola Academy and Regina Dominican High School.
  • Working with several Catholic schools to provide Title 1 Reading and Math programs
  • Partnering with LINK Unlimited, a Chicago organization providing financial support and mentoring for inner-city students in private schools, to offer tutoring and ACT test preparation
